A Palm Beach Tradition Sometimes, ya just gotta do; what ya gotta do… This is a locally famous, nationally craved, Russo’s sub. This painting is on permanent display at Russo’s Sub Shop in West Palm Beach. I guess you could say this is my first “oil painting” … |

Barbs and Stripes This piece was originally intended for the calendar series, but the more I painted, the more I got "into it." Not just a painting of fabric and chrome, this painting represents people calling out to each other, to remember those who gave up their freedom for our freedom. |

Gator Done How did I get this shot? I was on a bridge at "Gatorama!" I cheated and used University of Florida colors in the snout. So sue me. |

Focke Wulf While enjoying a Sunday ride, this old German fighter plane comes outta nowhere and crash-lands in a nearby field. Seems like a photo opportunity! I jump off my bike and rush over, and it's just some guy getting fuel at an Aero Club fueling station. |

Hotel Evernia Pronounced "E-Vern-Ya," it's not the "Bates Motel" or "Hotel California," just an old joint in town. I really just wanted to try paint neon... As seen at the Palm Beach International Airport in the Ar(t)chitectural Attitude, Art in Public Places Exhibition, September thru February, 2009 |

The Manalapan Tree-Tunnel A favorite strip for bikers on A1A in south Palm Beach County. Stop through on a Sunday morning to duck away from the sunshine and into the shadows. Listen to the bike's roar among the trees and spot the lone, oncoming headlight of someone who shares your passion. And although you may be sad when the tunnel hits the end, you'll be smiling once you see that wide-open view of the ocean. |

Thanks for the Ride I actually saw this in a church parking lot and thought it would make a good painting. |
![]() |
Retha's Ride Sometimes you just want to paint. The red 1958 Caddy was perfectly restored and just waiting to tell its history, but after I got the shot, I was shown an earlier painting of a red '58 Cadillac in a similar pose by Scott Jacobs. I changed the car color to pink and named it after Ms. Franklin..hoping nobody would notice. |

Hemingway This should have been called "Ernest Goes to Art School." This was my second project at a Las Vegas airbrush class and THE favorite among my critics. This painting is 100% airbrush, and was copied from a photo in a magazine. Notice the sunburn on his nose. |

Hot Springs It was really hot this year at Bikeweek in Daytona, and I wanted to show just that when I painted the front end of a springer. That's J & P Cycles in the reflection, at Destination Daytona. |

Remember 911 I wanted to paint something patriotic. During a HOG ride, I photographed the bike in front of me sporting an American flag. In the photograph, you could see the shadow of me taking the photo --- OR it could be a saluting serviceman. I kept it in the painting and re-numbered the license plate... |

Quick Fix February 2007 by Gary Carpentier
At a recent event, I noticed that the first
thing most women do after dismounting their ride is to check their
appearance in the bike's mirror. Patti Gollahon from Iron Eagle Motorcycle
Company in West Palm Beach agreed to pose for this likeness. Notice owner
Jeff patiently waiting in the chrome reflection of the starter button. |

Bike Week In my paintings, I want the viewer to think about what just happened and what's about to happen. This painting represents the anticipation and the planning of a motorcycle ride to "Bike week." |
